Right from the start, we had a fantastic experience with Sally and Kevin

The villa is out of this world. Sally and Kevin have put so much thought into every aspect and have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. It is set is beautiful surroundings, it took our breath away. The villa consists of everything (I mean everything) you’ll need for your stay from a very generous welcome basket, a fabulous coffee machine to pool towels and inflatables. The villa was spotless and very comfortable. The pool area has been very well designed, we spent hours enjoying the luxury of our own pool. The terraced area upstairs is perfect for enjoying the beautiful countryside. The outdoor furniture is very comfortable and the downstairs terrace is perfect for lunch in the shade. The kitchen facilities is home from home with every utensil you could need. We would highly recommend Villa Richmond, we can’t wait to return. Car hire is essential although taxis are available to head into Poros or Skala.

Fantastic holiday home offering spacious accommodation

Fantastic holiday home offering spacious accommodation, a pool in a lovely garden setting and air conditioning. We were welcomed to the villa by the hosts to the very well equipped villa with views of the mountains. Situated in a quiet village approximately 10 minutes from the lovely town of Poros with its beaches, port, food shops and seafront restaurants. The villa was beautifully presented and had a balcony, pool area sun beds and an outside table. A rural area of Kefalonia only a 45 minute drive from the airport.

After traveling to different Islands in Greece over the last 10 years we found that some of the accommodation was quite a low standard with dated furniture and poor accommodation. Some of the villas we stayed in were nice but overpriced and because of this we never returned. We decided that we loved what Greece had to offer for lifestyle and that we wanted to move to Greece before we retired. But how could we achieve that with no income? The only way was to sell our property in England and buy either 2 properties, 1 to rent out and 1 to live in, or one property with separate accommodation for us to live in when renting out to holidaymakers.

So after a long search and several properties falling through we finally purchased what is now Richmond villa.

Our aim was to deliver a home from home with all the facilities that people would need to have a comfortable holiday and a luxury stay.

Richmond Villa is a spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom villa with a private pool. The Villa is set in a lovely traditional Greek village called Agia Irini. The neighbors have been very welcoming to us and to our guests. When we purchased the villa it did not have a pool and we felt that the villa needed a pool. However, we had quotes of around 30,000 euros plus taxes permits etc.

This was above our budget and would not be achievable until the business took off. At first, we thought it did not matter as Poros is close and we could go to the sea and beach when we wanted to. But when we were sitting at the villa and it got very hot and we desperately wanted to be able to relax in a pool to cool down we realized we had to have a pool. Plus if we were renting out the villa we felt it must have a pool. We finally found a company that offered an alternative to the usual pools at a fraction of the cost although still very expensive. Straight away we ordered the pool and arranged for builders to come in and prepare the grounds for the pool to be installed.

We are now well into our first season and have no regrets over the installation of the pool. But work will continue with the pool as we have further plans. We aim to build decking all around the pool which will then enclose the pool and offer sunbathing on the deck next to the pool.

We are constantly upgrading the villa and have installed a lovely traditional BBQ for our guests to enjoy and also for us to enjoy when the villa is not being rented out.

We have also purchased an Air hockey table which now sits under the veranda. Children and adults will now be able to enjoy a few games when they are staying at the villa.

We have tried to deliver everything that we expect when staying on holiday in a villa, We believe we have achieved what we originally set out to achieve.

So when you stay at Richmond villa you can expect to find the kitchen cupboards full of all the utensils, dishes, and cooking facilities that you would have at home. Lovely coffee machine, dishwasher, and washing machine. Not like you would usually get which would be enough plates and cups just for the amount of people staying. We are offering everything you would need to make a lovely meal should you choose to eat in.

We supply towels for both inside and outside use, and sun loungers that are foldable and can be taken to the beach rather than pay to hire them. We offer both indoor and outdoor living with plenty of sitting and eating areas to choose from.

Inside the villa, you will also find a satellite TV, a DVD player, a stereo, and a jukebox. A luxury bathroom with a corner bath and a second bathroom with a shower.

We believe we have thought of everything to give our guest a luxury affordable stay.
