Coming to the end of the season at Richmond villa

Coming to the end of the season

Your Top Family Holiday Rental Property In Greece

As the rental season draws to an end in Kefalonia, Richmond villa also starts to get ready to close the doors until 2025.

This year Richmond Villa was late coming to the rental market following a lot of hold ups with buying the villa and getting our website up and running. So we finally started to advertise in May 2024.

The Island was not as busy as it usually is and this was mainly down to expensive flights from the UK to Kefalonia. Hopefully the airlines will realize that charging crazy prices means less people will travel. The feedback we had from people was the price of Richmond Villa was good value for money, but the flights made it out of some peoples reach. So with that in mind we decided that our 2024 prices will not be going up for 2025. We will be offering an early booking discount too.

The garden has been our biggest achievement this year . We have moved rocks, soil and laid a hard standing for the pool and not to mention all the new fruit trees, Olive trees and plants. We are excited to see the garden mature in the coming years. We are lucky enough to live on the Island which allows us to fully maintain the Villa and grounds. It has been a very expensive year with buying garden furniture, plants, the pool and much more. It certainly has been a busy year for us at Richmond Villa.

Getting Out And About

Whenever we go on holiday we are not the sort of people who like to sit on the beach, especially as I really do not like sand. We like to explore and get a car to make sure we really get to enjoy the country we are visiting, we would recommend our guess do the same in order to fully appreciate the Island. So now that we live here we are amazed how many new places and beaches we are finding. Just follow the Greek people to find the best beaches. They do not go for the tourist beaches but they go to the prettiest and some times the most difficult to get too. We are always asking ourselves ” how did they get down there”.

We have found lakes, beaches, great restaurants and lovely locals. We have also managed to make some lovely friends too. We have a totally different life style now that we live in Kefalonia. We have 2 properties and both in great locations. Richmond villa is in Agia Irini and surrounded by mountains and trees. If you are looking for peace and quiet and want to explore the Island then Richmond villa is the place to consider. We have Katelios a short drive from the villa, lovely place to visit with bars and restaurants. In the other direction we have Poros and then Skala. Poros is made up of three parts, you have a port one end and then restaurants, shops and a very long beach which is around 2km long, so it is never full. The beach is mainly pebbles but the water is a beautiful blue crystal colour and the locals are great too. Skala is ideal for shopping, restaurants and a sandy beach. Skala is a busy resort. But if you did not want to go out then you can relax around the pool at Richmond Villa. At least you will not have to put your towels out early in the morning to beat the rush as the sun loungers are only for the Richmond villa guest.
Kaminia Beach and Tartarooga restaurant.

Wow this was a great find and we took family and friends there too. It’s a restaurant and bar on the edge of the beach with plenty of parking. A car is definitely a must. The food is great too and great value for money. The staff are friendly too. Although I yet to find any rude staff in any of the restaurants I have been too.

So the wind down from the season of 2024 begins now that we are in October. Sadly the Island shuts down due to no direct flights but you can still get to Kefalonia by flying into Athens and then changing flights to get over to Kefalonia. The weather remains warm and the skies a beautiful blue.

If anyone wanted to rent the villa over the winter, we would open the doors again.
