Wow what a great start to the summer of 2025! we welcomed our first guest in March this year and they had a great stay in Richmond Villa whilst visiting their family in the village.
We have been busy with promoting our villa holiday let in Kefalonia. We have had many enquiries directly to us but unfortunately bookings via booking.com beat them to the bookings. We have some limited availability which we advertise on our Richmond villa Facebook. Do keep following us and if your not following us please do so as that is where we advertise the availability and discount prices. Booking direct allows us to give cheaper rates due to no commission to be paid.
We have a beautiful garden at the villa and we are saving very hard to pay for decking to be added around the pool with space for sunbeds. The garden is in full bloom and looks amazing.
We have so many plans for the villa, so far we have loved renting out Richmond Villa and have been lucky to have fabulous guest who have looked after the villa during their stay. I am enjoying hosting the villa and reading the great reviews that our guest have been leaving about their stay at the villa.
We feel we have achieved what we set out to do but it does not stop there. We now have made more plans and goals to reach for Richmond villa. It is very important to us they are guest have a relaxing and great holiday.

A couple of things about Poros , Poros is our nearest beach which is an 8 minute drive. When holidaying in Kefalonia I would always advise people to rent a car. There are lots of rental companies on the Island. One of the largest is CBR and they have offices around the Island. If you do not want to hire a car I can recommend a local taxis driver who is reliable and a lovely man.
So Poros I am told was the main place to stay in the early days of Kefalonia becoming popular . The best way to enjoy the island is not to stay in one place but to explore the beaches and the whole Island. Poros is unspoilt, it has a long beach and Poros is divided into 3 areas. You have a Port at the far end. You can take a ferry from Poros to Ithaka or Kyllini. You can hire a boat and go and explore the beaches or go on a boat trip with one of the companies. I would definitely consider hiring a boat for yourselves and I would recommend George’s Boats, you will find George and his boats close to the Port in Poros. George has said he will give a discount to any of our guest staying at Richmond Villa. We will be getting some business cards printed with George’s details for our guest to prove they are staying in Richmond villa to qualify for the discount. Also close to the port area you will find a couple of restaurants/bars. The food is great and well worth going to. There are a couple of gift shops. Then if you go over a bridge you will find further shops, bars, hairdresser ( great hairdressers and very cheap. We both use them ), you will find 2 butchers shops, more gift shops and of course the beach. If you follow the beach you will find some more restaurants, bars and sunbed hires etc. Right at the end of the beach behind some rocks you will meet the stone man, ( that is not his name but it is what we call him). The stone man makes statues and paints the rocks. I believe Poros is the forgotten area but it is a great place to live and holiday. There are great links for travelling to other areas. Skala is very popular with tourist and it is not far from Poros. Katelios is also another popular area which again is not far from Richmond villa. All of these areas have beaches, bars, restaurants and shops. In Poros I would recommend Zanza bar it is open until 2am and is on the beach front. It is one of my favourite bars. Great atmosphere and great staff. Next door to Zanza bar is a lovely shop that sells handbag, dresses, purses and lots more. Last summer I brought some lovely dresses from there and great prices.
If you are looking for a great holiday and need to relax and get away from your busy lives then consider staying at Richmond villa in Agia Irini .
We moved from the UK in November 2023 and it has not been easy setting up our new lives in Kefalonia and at times missing our families nearly made us move back to the UK. We now have settled and would not want to go back. Our families can come and have a great holiday and see us here in Kefalonia.
We now have an income from Richmond villa and hope this will continue for many years to come. For those who are considering moving to Kefalonia I would recommend it. Since living here we have made some lovely friends both Greek and other nationalities. It is not cheap living here but definitely worth it.
Please like and follow us on Facebook and take a look at our lovely villa. We are told that the villa is much better than the pictures show. If you want to see it for yourself then book with us. We use both an English and Greek bank to make transactions easier. We live on the Island and have a second property on the other side of the Island. We live in Richmond villa in the winter and in the summer we live in our other property so that we can rent out Richmond villa.
I hope that the people who have stayed in Richmond Villa Greece and our future guest all return for a further stay. You can see all of their reviews on our website.
If you are visiting Kefalonia this year I hope you all have a great holiday where ever you are staying because Kefalonia is a hidden Gem.
Have a great day and hopefully we will see you soon.
