No matter what your age there is something to do in Kefalonia.

Around the Island of Kefalonia you will find lots of places selling boat trips and excursions. Personally I always try to book direct to avoid the middle man if I can. But if you want a day out that covers several different places then you might be best to check out all of the offers. I have seen a boat trip from Poros and it was playing loud music and people coming off the boat looked like they had had a great day out. If you would rather travel alone, you can hire a small boat and again you can hire these from different locations around the Island. I would recommend George’s boats in Poros. He has some new boats this year but all of his boats are well looked after and save. The great thing about hiring a small boat is that you can choose where you want to go. On George’s boats he has a cooler box so you can take a picnic and plenty to drink.

Clubs and bars – so according to google there are night clubs in Kefalonia. Skala has the Loco bar and my way bar. My way is open until 3am. In Poros there are several bars but the one I like the most is Zanza bar. Zanza bar stays open until 2am. Great service, seating by the sea and great cocktails.

Getting to see everything around the Island, you are best to hire a car. In the long run it might work out cheaper than going on organised trips.

Great places to visit in Kefalonia are of course the beaches. There are lots of beaches and some are Stoney and some are sandy but all have crystal blue seas. But to find the best beaches you are best to either hire a boat or drive around the island . By doing this you will find the less busy beaches. I use Poros beach because it is very long and you can choose to sit away from other people or stay in the main part of the beach. Where you will find bars and sun loungers.

Places to visit – Drogarati cave and Melissani lake. Definitely worth going to. It does not take long and you can see both in the same day. Melissani lake is also known as Nymphs cave. It cost 10 euro for adults and 5 euro for children. If you buy a ticket for both the lake and the cave it is cheaper. Drogarati cave cost 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children. But the combined ticket is 13 euros. These prices might have changed.

There is a children’s zoo/ theme park but I have never been there so I do not know what is there. The small children might enjoy it as my grandsons went there with their parents and the children enjoyed it.

If you like to shop there are plenty of gift shops around the Island. In Argostoli there are lots of restaurants, bars, gift shops, jewellery shops, supermarkets and clothing shops. Poros has bars , restaurants, bakery, clothes shops, supermarkets , chemist and more.

If you do not want a beach day , there are plenty of places that will allow you to use their pools as long as you buy drinks and food from them. You can also take a trip to Assos and Fiskardo .

So no matter what your age there are things to see and do.
